Hand Forged Sun Face Ladle
This early ladle has a hand-forged, spiral shaft, that terminates in a double-sided "sun face" with copper eyes. The shaft is attached to the copper bowl with copper brads. Possibly African-American. Early to mid 1800's. Measuring approximately 17" in length with the bowl diameter being 4". The sun face at the top measures approximately 1 1/8" in diameter. A great piece of early folk art!
