​Portrait of A Gentleman

This is a finely executed portrait of a gentleman whose identity is unknown.  It is oil on canvas, on the original stretcher.   This dapper gentleman appears to be in his 30s, wearing a fine dark suit coat over a light colored vest and shirt with some sort of key-like pin on his shirt.  He is quite handsome.  There is one tiny imperfection just under his nose.  There is normal craqalure throughout the canvas.  But no visible repairs.  Right now I am selling it without a frame.  However, I am searching for the appropriate frame and will change this listing later if I find one.  American. Attributed to Zedekiah Belknap, 1781-1858. A wonderful early painting!  Ca. 1820-1830.
