Stunning North Shore Bow Front Chest
Exceptionally fine North Shore bow front mahogany chest with four bead molded drawers with blind dovetails, each outlined by inlaid stringing and the shaded quarter fan corner inlays characteristic of Federal cabinet work made north of Boston between 1795-1805. Each drawer with rare original octagonal brass pulls embossed with an American eagle over-arched by 13 stars for the 13 American colonies before Tennessee joined the union in 1796. This design was used by brass founder Daniel King in Philadelphia and these brasses may have been sourced from his shop. Supported by tall French feet. Refinished surface, repair to front drop, small scattered repairs to veneer. Otherwise in fine condition. 35"w by 19"d by 31 1/4"t.
